What is the Kings Club project?

The Kings Club project is a mentoring programme created for boys aged 13 to 19. Statistics show that boys are failing at a higher rate academically than their female peers so as a solution we have created a safe space where they can get valuable life and focused skills that will put them on a path where they are more likely to succeed.
The project aims to support boys on their journey towards becoming men, teaching valuable technical and life skills to build confidence and capability. One of the challenges some of these young men face is the lack of a positive male role-models in their life. We aim to feel this void by offering support and mentorship.

Our programme covers three main areas:
1. Mentality/ foundation
How they progress in life can greatly be determined on their mentality and how they view the world. We challenge their thoughts and ideas of life and success through positive discussion on various topics of manhood, social skills, wellbeing, awareness, entrepreneurism, money management and growth mindset. For example playing the game of chess and oware can help develop strategic and critical thinking.
A growth mindset encourages the belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed through effort, perseverance, and learning from mistakes. In a world that increasingly values innovation and problem-solving, fostering a positive growth mindset equips young people with the tools they need to thrive both academically and in life.
2. Life Skills
Teaching young people life skills is essential for equipping them with the tools they need to navigate adulthood successfully. These skills ranging from cooking, financial literacy and time management to communication and problem-solving are fundamental for making informed decisions, managing responsibilities, and fostering independence. By imparting practical knowledge and hands-on experience, we empower youth to handle real-world challenges with confidence and competence.
Life skills education not only enhances their ability to achieve personal and professional goals but also promotes resilience and adaptability in the face of change. Ultimately, investing in these skills helps young people build a solid foundation for a fulfilling and self-sufficient life.
3. Focused Skills
Here we invite various professionals from around our community from different industries to facilitate workshop sessions around their profession. They will get practical skills and also valuable advice and learn about the professional’s journey to achieving their goals. The professionals we invite will depend of the interest of the participants.
Some of the professions will include, electrician, graphic designer, website designer, barbering, music production, catering, coding, publishing.
Fun Days Out and Residential Trips
Our trips and residentials play a crucial role in the development of young people, offering them unique opportunities for growth and learning outside the traditional classroom setting. Quite often our participants don’t have the opportunity or resources to travel out of their community so these trips play a vital part in their development. These experiences foster independence, teamwork, and resilience as participants navigate new environments and challenges together. They provide a platform for cultural exchange, helping young individuals broaden their perspectives and appreciate diversity. Moreover, these trips often include activities that promote physical fitness and mental well-being, encouraging a balanced lifestyle. Overall, youth club trips and residentials are invaluable in shaping well-rounded individuals by instilling confidence, social skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
Kings After School Club
In between our holiday activity club we run our Kings After School Club. This gives our young kings the opportunity to relax, have fun and learn in a safe youth club style environment. ![]()

KINGS CLUB ANTHEM
At our Kings Winter Club, we hit the studio at Beatsabar Music and dove headfirst into a full music production session! 🎛️ The young men had an unforgettable experience, jamming, laying down beats, crafting positive lyrics, and recording in the booth. They were totally immersed, learning the ins and outs of mixing and creating from scratch. By the end, they’d proudly produced two unique tracks: a smooth, instrumental lofi piece and a chilled-out drill track.
Take a listen to the “Kings Club Anthem” created by our talented young Kings.
